Horses, pack mules or fierce weapon?

Did you know that horses are used for entertainment and supply carriers?  About 500-years ago, horses were used as war machines! Different horses were used for lots of different purposes. Some were actually used as pack mules, some as messengers, and some a fierce weapon to be reckoned with. So obviously horses weren't just picked out and scattered across jobs and tasks, but most were categorized by breeds and notice of ability to do a certain mission. The stallion, a renowned and aggressive horse, usually was a part of the knights supply for success because horses that were meant to go into battle were trained to kick, bite, and be most trifling to their given opponent. The horse was a knight's fearless symbol, in fact the knight's horse was covered in armor just as well as the knight was for protection on the field.
Though horses were a critical weapon in battle, some talents were squandered  in chores! Smaller horses that weren't fit for battle were used as pack mules, horses with a higher level than so called "pack mules" were used as steeds for squires to complete their tasks.

  1. Honestly I would not want to fight one in war but that's awesome! Were the horses kind of like dogs today in war?
